What is the point of a diamond dangling on a heartless chest?

Or on a deaf ear?

Or on an ungenerous hand?

What is the point of loving people for the way that your eyes see them, not for who they really are on the inside?

Don’t be the one who gets fooled by an egg dipped in gold.  At the first obstacle, its beautiful covering shatters, and all that is left is nothing that will please your eyes.

Use your eyes to see into people's hearts, not the way that they make their hearts appear.
